I am new in school. I came from the countryside and my father has been recently assigned to work in highly urbanized city. The school that my parents chose for me was a high-end school in that area. I was a bit apprehensive to study in that school. I might not be accepted since I came from a small town. They were so fancy and I was just in t shirts and jeans.

On my first day, nobody spoke to me except the teachers and the class president who was actually doing it because it was his responsibility. I knew school will not be the same. I suddenly miss my friends and my school back home. I had to lie to my parents when they ask me about school. I told them it was fine. On day, I opened my locker and found out that physical education t shirt was vandalized. It said: “Go home Loser.” From that point on, I lost my self-confidence. With no friends in tow, I eat lunch alone and study in the library alone. There was nowhere to go when class ends except home. No soccer games or baseball games.

I asked the principal about it, and he said that he always is watching what the kids wear and some of their funny shirts are not really that bad. He has seen some where he has made the kids turn them inside out or even go home and change but for the most part, he allows them.

Of course, it is always possible to buy different clothing and change in the bathroom after you leave home. I had some friends who did that when we were in school, but I never did it.

My mother asked me if I wanted to go shopping after school today, and I said that I would love to. She always lets me get the coolest clothes; even though my dad says that we should stop shopping so much and do more creative things like go to the museum or something. I have never seen Gucci shoes at a museum, so we are heading to the mall.

The first stop in the mall will to explore what new Prada items have been delivered since we were there last week. I got two new pairs of Prada shoes then, and they are the coolest things you have ever seen. All my friends keep asking me where we got them, but I usually do not tell them. If I tell them, then they will go and get them and then I will not be the cool girl with the cool Prada shoes anymore.

The second stop on our mall tour will be to check out the Gucci handbags. I only have three, and would like to add at least two more to my closet very soon. I need one that is a little smaller than the three that I have. If they are smaller, then I can fit it into my backpack and just get it out when I need it.
